  1. Read more about Indian Portfolio Tracker on

  2. Check Out this Myplanner which is a Portfolio Tracker Service provided by PersonalFN , its also a good one.

  3. Thanks Saket, This information is really very helpful to me, now i can choose best portfolio tracker to track my stock investment.
Is there any site that can provide me advice on my portfolio stocks?

  4. Hi Saket/Kshama Jain,
Great info shared. This post is a real help for middle class investors who is confused in tracking their portfolio. Let me share my view on this.

I have compared all these sites. The most advanced one is, without any doubt, . Its stability, dedicated servers, TV support are unique. Kuber is very slow and providing less infor / support comparing to mc. Rediff is fast, easy to add fund, no junk stuffs in site. in ET adn iwealth, we cannot import old transactions which is there in MC and Kuber.
The best part of Moneycontrol is that it has Apps for almost all platforms including iOS and blackberry. This is the best part of it.
I personally do not like NDTV :)
    Thanks a lot ...

  5. Thanks for sharing this valuable information.

You have missed to cover as to which method of portfolio performance tracking is used by these portals, SRR, MWR or TWR? If you could add that too, it would be great.

I recently came across and noticed that it also does track Indian stocks. It does track performance on TWR, but the issue is I can't see NAV of my portfolio in it. With TWR I feel it is important to associate an NAV/Index value to the portfolio to be able actually compare the performance of your portfolio as compared to other indices. It does show a comparison graph, but it is against DJIA and not BSE. Also, not enough details are available there to get any confidence on its correctness.

Do any of these portals share NAV? I want to treat my portfolio like a mutual fund and track it.

I checked AskKuber demo here (, but this doesn't seem to do TWR or NAV.

    1. I am extremely glad to see you raising this point. In fact I have put a post on TWR for measuring portfolio return on this blog itself

AskKuber does daily valuation (NAV) of the portfolio by excluding the effect of cashflows in the portfolio. As you rightly said this allows to calculate the Time Weighted Return for the portfolio which then can be used to compare with any benchmark. It provides different chart to compare the portfolio performance. For e.g. you can compare portfolio's monthly return with index returns. You can compare portfolio market value with the investments made.

  6. Yes, it is using TWR. I missed that earlier somehow.

Only one small issue. It does show comparison with NIFTY index. But it would be great if it could assign some NAV to my portfolio. Does it do that already? Did I miss that too?

    Anyone does that?

One small complaint about not taking dividends automatically, too :)

Even MarketWatch does auto calculation of dividend.

    1. It shows portfolio's ending market value for each month. This is visible on the Portfolio Performance page. You can see it both in the chart and tabular form. Though it does daily valuation of the portfolio as well it is not visible to the user.

It does generate an alert for automatic dividend adjustment. User has click on the confirm button to apply the dividends.

    2. Regarding portfolio valuation: Yes it shows portfolio valuation. But that is complete value of the portfolio. If I buy/sell in that duration, the value will automatically increase/decrease. i.e. If my portfolio is at 5L today and I do purchase of 3L, then my portfolio value will suddenly be 8L. But that is not necessarily a good thing.

What I want is an NAV to be assigned. That way I would be looking at relative increase decrease in intrinsic value rather than just the rupee value.

Regarding Dividend auto adjustment: Okay, I haven't got the alert as yet. But even if it comes, it would come now for the investments that I have entered in past. But when I enter the investments first time (for my past investments), then also it can suggest dividends and I can confirm. e.g. I entered my investment data for last two years' transactions. It could have suggested dividend for all of them.

    3. You are correct and that is totally different measure. Basically you want to keep track of profit at any day as percentage of investment. As a investor time weighted return is one of the best measure for calculating annualized performance also it can be compared with other investments like Index.

    4. It does exactly what you are saying. Although the portfolio valuation is done based on the ending value of the stocks in the portfolio but change in the portfolio value is calculated by adjusting the portfolio for the cashflows. For e.g. if your portfolio value was 5L yesterday and you purchased shares worth 3L today then although the portfolio value would be 8L but change in the portfolio value would be calculated by removing the cash inflow of 3L from the portfolio.

This is how calculations for TWR is done.

Regarding dividend alerts, it does generate the alerts for the old transactions. For e.g. if you add stocks in your portfolio that you bought two years ago it would send alerts for all the dividends, splits and bonuses that are applicable to your stock.

    5. The way it is doing doesn't suffice.

You say "change in portfolio value is calculated by adjusting portfolio for cashflows". That is good, but not sufficient. I still can't get the NAV value increment of my portfolio. For me to see how much % have I grown in last 3 months, it is not possible.

      Let's take this scenario:
Initial value on 1 Jan: 2L
      Purchases in Jan: 1L
Increase in value of stocks in Jan: 0.5L
Total value at the end of Jan: 3.5L

      Purchases in Feb: 3L
Increase in value of stocks in Jan: 1.2L
Total value at the end of Jan: 7.7L

Now in 2 months, as per your calculation the value increased by 0.5L and 1.2L and hence total 1.7L. But how do I know how good did I do? Did I do better in Jan or in Feb? If I include Sales in it, and a regular up and down of values it would be even more complicated.

In such situations calculating NAV value helps.

  7. Is there any portfolio tracker that allow me to add notes (that can be viewed without any clicks)? The thing is I want to maintain my trailing stoploss or target in the portfolio page itself to enable to get all things in the same place.

    1. I wish to have the same feature. Askkube provide notes for each transactions but not portfolio level.

    2. notes has been added in the watch list at askkuber.

  8. Hi, Does any of these tool offer excel upload feature? Meaning uploading the transactional data which I have in an excel into the tracker? Let me know. Thanks. :)

  9. You can upload csv file in askkuber portfolio

  10. is there any portfolio tracker that adjusts corporate actions

    1. akkuber portfolio does that. It take care of dividend , Split and bonus.

  11. I am using this. It works great for me.

  12. keep posting such a good information, Thanks for update!

  16. Do not be fooled by fish skin - it is much more than a waste product of the fish and food industry. Craftsmen, artists and fashion houses appreciate its beauty and robustness, turning it into exquisite cloth, accessories, pictures or even book covers. Once treated, the skin is known as fish or ocean leather, a name that better reflects the quality and attractiveness of the material.
